CARDURA™ N-10 Glycidyl Ester is an extremely versatile glycidyl ester of a synthetic saturated monocarboxylic acid. It is a useful
building block for coatings formulators. It can be employed to enhance the performance of a very broad range of coatings; from high-performance
acrylics to urethane lacquers, and from high-solids polyesters to cathodic electrodeposition primers. The hydrolytic stability and
alphatic nature of CARDURA™ N-10 Glycidyl Ester provides benefits such as: low viscosity, excellent exterior durability, exceptional
gloss, good chemical resistance and efficient pigment wetting. It is also quite useful for adjusting the acid value of alkyd and polyester
resins and, at the same time, increasing the hydroxyl functionality. In addition, it has a high-boiling, low viscosity liquid which
greatly facilitates handling.
The unique reaction characteristics of CARDURA™ N-10 Glycidyl Ester are coupled with high-performance
results in a wide variety of applications for paint systems, particularly non-drying alkyds, polyesters and acrylics including automotive
coatings (primers, OEM topcoats and refinish) and general coil and metal coatings. Additional applications in coatings also include
EPON™ Resin-based electrodeposition binders; modified epoxy esters; controlling acid values in resin cooks; and UV-cured systems.

EPONEX™ Resins
CARDURA™ Resin
EPONOL™ 53-BH-35 is a high-molecular-weight epoxy resin used primarily in paint coatings and in prepreg laminants. For paint
coatings, it offers good flexibility to help reduce chipping and cracking. For prepreg laminants, it acts like a thickening
agent and offers good flow control to help keep plastics from literally oozing and running during heating.
EPONEX™ 1510 weatherable epoxy resin is a unique class of low viscosity epoxy resin, which in properly formulated solvent
and waterborne coatings, exhibits improved exterior performance over conventional bisphenol-A type epoxy resin while retaining epoxy-like
properties. As a consequence of its uniqueness, however, this resin system also has certain characteristics that require
a special formulating technique to obtain coatings with maximum film performance and gloss retention. Application of this technique,
which is not used in formulating conventional Bisphenol-A epoxy resin coatings, is necessary for obtaining optimum film
performance from higher solids and waterborne weatherable epoxy coatings. Since its introduction, this weatherable epoxy
resin has been successfully applied in high solids coatings, including baking finishes, as a modifier for industrial acrylic finishes,
clear coatings for wood, a binder for decorative aggregate, and in certain maintenance applications.
