HELOXY™ Modifiers
HELOXY™ Modifiers offer formulators the ability to choose between monofunctional and polyfunctional glycidyl ethers and flexibilizers
for their formulating needs. They offer:
• improved cured system flexibility
• increased peel and impact strength
• increased levels
of filler loading
• improved resin wetting action
• reduced viscosity and surface tension
HELOXY™ Modifiers are epoxy functionalized
alcohols, diols and polyols. Three classes of HELOXY™ Modifiers are offered: monofunctional glycidyl ethers, polyfunctional glycidyl
ethers and flexibilizers.
The polyfunctional products include the alphatics which provide some increase in flexibility while increasing
chemical resistance and mechanical performance of the system. Our cycloaliphatic modifier offers improved UV resistance when compared
to aromatic modifiers and our trifunctional modifier can increase the crosslink density of a system.
Some HELOXY™ Modifier products
are considered flexibilizers. These products can improve wetting performance, offer good color properties for outdoor applications
and can increase the impact strength and toughness of a system.
Areas of application include coatings, structural engineering,
adhesives, fiber-reinforced (FRP) applications, potting and molding.
Modifiers help improve cured system flexibility, increase peel and impact strength, increase the level of filler loading, improve
resin wetting action, and reduce viscosity and surface tension.
