Miller-Stephenson Chemical Co. has developed a boron nitride (BN) aerosol product, E0201A, for extra high temperature mold release and dry film lubrication applications. 

1 3 5 The boron nitride used is a fine particle size of the hexagonal form of the ceramic compound.

This inert and non-wetting boron nitride is a white ceramic particle that has a low coefficient of friction and is naturally lubricious and stable at elevated temperatures and in aggressive environments. It is nonflammable and has non-contact and incidental food contact NSF registration H-2, HX-2 and HX-1. It provides a thin, uniform coating. Applications include mold release for die casting magnesium and other light metals, high temperature and difficult to mold polymers and composites; assembly aid for ease of joining mating surfaces; extreme temperature dry film lubricant and barrier coating for surfaces in aggressive environments.
